Hi and welcome to Lloyd's Favorites page! The stories I've placed here are ones that I personally enjoy and I hope you do too!
You may notice that most of the stories here have the 'short' tag on them; this has to do with my attention span as I tend to be extremely critical of longer pieces. Also, unless I am positive that a story falls into a specific category, it won't have an icon so, for example, simply having an unexplained transformation won't earn a 'modern magic' label.
| My Favorites | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthro | ||||
| True Reflection | by Martin Divo | Anthro dog TF, but the story focuses more on the psychology involved as a woman is slowly turned into a loyal servant by her captor. Think furry Stockholme Syndrome but creepier. | ||
| Silver Fox Tracks | by Jetfire | Part of the Paradise saga. While I don't pay much attention to the series I do enjoy this particular story for the ending. | ||
| Drift Away | by Slyford | One of Slyford's better stories on this site in my opinon. It also makes me think of To Kill a Mockingbird for some reason. | ||
| The Day the Universe Changed | by Bryan | The second story in the Winds of Change universe in which the fateful day is told from the perspective of three different people. | ||
| Gonna Rain Tomorra | by Viqsi | Another WoC story. It's hard to suprise old people. | ||
| Wolf in the House: | by Eirik | A reporter confronts a senator about some unusual activities. Amusing and a bit tongue in cheek near the end. | ||
| Where's the Beef? | by Xodiac | People who buy Spells 'R Us costumes usually end up locked into their disguise. Usually. | ||
| 'Tis a Full Moon, Of Course | by Eirik | As a fellow wearer of glasses, I sympathize with this common predicament. | ||
| Animal | ||||
| Slips of Paper | by Virmir | A fox TF told through a series of inner dialogues; no real plot to speak of but I find it refreshing. | ||
| Reality Bites | by Eirik | A look at the complexities involved in human to animal transformation. This is either ironic or depressing depending on how hopeful you are that TF technology becomes practical in our lifetime | ||
| Passing Fad | by Eirik | Perhaps the most absurd plot I have ever encountered. Looks like Ford was right, albeit a little delayed. | ||
| Best Friends | by Eirik | Part of the Visionary saga. Short, sweet, and a happy ending. | ||
| Little Boy Lost | by Eirik | A young boy lost in the woods encounters a family of foxes. This story has a nice slice of life feel to it. | ||
| Abysses | by Virmir | My favorite version of the creation mythos to date. | ||
| The Pantry is Bear | by Eirik | Magical realism is a fun genre when taken in an utterly satiric manner. | ||
| Legacy of Flight | by Bryan | A man realizes his heritage and finds a different kind of enlightenment. | ||
| Toon and Inanimate | ||||
| Somebody's Watching | by Michael Bard | I have a feeling this refers to Slyford T. Rabbit but I'm not sure. In either case, this story isn't so much 'creepy' as 'darkly ominous' if that makes any sense. | ||
| The Sly Fox Show - Tune In and Toon Out | by JT Fox | Third story in the Sly Fox series from Xanadu. Shame no more are being written, as it's a very interesting concept to work with. | ||
| Losing Himself | by Michael Bard | Part of the Xanadu universe and a weird type of TF in which a man in a fursuit turns into a man in a fursuit. Part tragic, part creepy, there's probably some form of moral here but I haven't got a clue what it is. | ||
| I Haven't a Clue | ||||
| Anubis | by Phil Geusz | For some reason this story keeps getting categorized under the Blind Pig setting. In either case it is a gripping tale of a young man's voyage at sea and the impossible events he witnesses. | ||
| Eternal Glory | by Slyford | A horror story involving Care Bears, what else can I say? | ||
| Web Comics and Off-Site Stories | ||||
| [The Changing Workplace] | by Oren the Otter | A comic based around the premise of what it'd be like if the TSA was an actual place of employment. No idea if it still being added to, but it's really good either way. | ||
| [Body By Harmani] | by Phil Geusz | Vanity in the extreme. | ||
| [Wanderer's Ways] | by Wanderer | A bit of insight into the methods of the Blind Pig's favorite werewolf. | ||
| [Christmas Resolutions] | by Wanderer | A sweet little christmas tale from the Blind Pig. Also has a minor tie-in with Christmas Rush. | ||
