I remember the in-depth discussion that this short story spawned on TSA. The debate on weather legs evolved from other animals would have been more stable than ours, etc. It was truely fantastic to see and read.

And the black humor was as creepy as it was dry (GOOD thing). And the common sense applied to some of the old furry fantacies.

As I recall, this popped into my head from some IRC talk. It is FAR more exagerated than real. I can assure you of that as I have working digitigrade hoof stilts and I CAN stand and walk around on them. Still, we need to laugh at ourselves from time to time--
