On Government

To me, the NAR doesn't seem sustainable. It simply isn't feasable to successfully govern an area that large or a population that massive. Canada's parliament IRL is incredibly slow, and the US's is riddled with people who's sole purpose for existence seems to be to give John Stewart material. It seems more logical, and more in line with Canada's beliefs in general, that once the U.S was pacified a transition would be made into letting it be its own country again.

On Politics

Even though the NAR is neither the US or Canada anymore, there are still lots of people who were around before the countires merged. I guess there would be people who still refer to their region as America/Canada and define themselves as such. I can easily picture someone going, "NAR be dammned! I was born Canadian/American and I'll die Canadian/American!"
