Just to make some things really clear: Paedophilia - under any name or with any description - is not going to be hosted on my server. The offending content will be removed and the offending user banned. If required I will lock the Wiki so that registration is required for any editing. Users making anonymous posts and edits to try and get around the ban will be prosecuted. If any user wishes to argue about this policy, well, I won't stop them from it. But if any user that has been banned for violating the policy complains about it the result will be the same as if they were anonymously making numerous posts - prosecution. (Though, in the latter case, I will likely also inform the police instead of filing a strictly civil case) - ShadowWolf 19:17, 20 July 2007 (EDT)

I've got no problem with any of that, my clarifications were intended to point out that since we don't sit here on the wiki 24 hours a day screening every edit as they come in it's possible that something objectionable might get posted and then stay on the wiki a while before we notice it and either categorize it or remove it. I don't want someone seeing something horrible on Shifti and then getting upset because our policy "promised that the adult stuff would be properly labeled" or something along those lines. It's a covering of our asses, not a loosening of the restriction. Bryan 19:42, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
No problem with that. And I should clarify the fact that there are certain border cases that may be allowed, even under my above stated policy of "Never, not in a million years". As noted in our recent e-mail exchange certain age-regression stories may seem to fall under my stated blanket-ban even though they will be judged on a case by case basis. - ShadowWolf 20:24, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
And I suppose I should get around to writing the "disclaimers" page now, too, since this is touching on that to some degree. :) Bryan 20:49, 20 July 2007 (EDT)

Image policymaking

Since it's still being worked on... my idea for an Image Policy follows:

We are all nifty and OK about you doing the following:
  • Putting up pictures that help illustrate a story
  • Putting up icons that are relevant to something not story-related (i.e. the TSA logo on a page about the TSA)
  • Your own cutesy little horizontal rule replacement images
We will get quite stern and bothersome if you're doing the following:
  • Uploading pictures that you do not have legal right to use (see Shifti:Copyrights)
  • Uploading very large amounts of pictures (admin's discretion; exercise some restraint, kthx!)
  • Collecting pictures or creating galleries (that's not what we're here for)
Basically, any and all pics that will help you enhance your story or the overall Shifti experience is good - but that's all. We do not have the resources to be an image gallery - and besides, there's plenty of other major image hosting sites that are friendly toward or specialize in transformation images.

I'm going based on the assumption that the reason why there's still "gray area" is that we don't want to shut the door on making stories more interesting by way of images. This may be a mistaken assumption - if so, feel free to disregard this as the empty ramblings of a madwoman. (Or just ignore it; that works, too. ;) )

Otherwise... comments? Thoughts? - Viqsi 12:24, 21 August 2007 (EDT)
