While Zharus does have a convenient uninhabited landmass in the form of Rodinia, the climatic consequences of ''any'' sufficiently large impact are rather eschatological. Indeed, the ensuing impact winter is likely to be worse with a terrestrial impact.

Okay, now I'm confused. How could any RIDE, especially an ex-mil RIDE, ''not'' know about bodyjacking? It's an excellent way to take prisoners, and a RIDE's ability to operate fused with an unconscious rider is a major feature.

A dozen worlds?! This must be a far-future fic, then, set after a way to synthesize qubitite has been discovered. Alternatively, after Earth got a little too acquisitive and Zharus decided to push back.

Hm. I'm at the Engineering Explosion. If this was Fenspace, I'd suggest an emergency biomod, but in the absence of spare Handwavium, the options appear to be (a) pray, or (b) induce Integration. Option b may not be available.

Oh, so he was smuggled off Zharus? I suppose that explains a number of things, although I'm not sure I buy that it would be possible.

... And I'm done! I'd like to hear more about the Pole Star Survivors sometime (did Milly make it?), and there are a few typos I'll just correct myself since this is in the main namespace. All in all, an excellent story.

I'm noting these down as I go, so some of the earlier comments might be addressed later in the story.

I find it odd that Bugs assumes that all RIDEs are fettered against harming humans: they were developed as military equipment, after all.

Depending on Pole Star's mass and distance from Zharus, it could strike with considerably more energy than a gigaton bomb. It has become a kinetic kill vehicle.

While Zharus does have a convenient uninhabited landmass in the form of Rodinia, the climatic consequences of any sufficiently large impact are rather eschatological. Indeed, the ensuing impact winter is likely to be worse with a terrestrial impact.
