Wait, you didn't want a "Stories by author" category? Uh... Oops? I apologise for my highhanded editing without your permission. (The category I created and added, Category:Chatoyance, is a subcategory of Category:Stories by author, which is in turn a subcategory of Category:Story, so adding that last wouldn't have been strictly necessary if you left your author category on.
