My favourite thing about this story is the characterisation of each part of the dragon. Beh the leader and change-maker, Jo the practical problem-solver, Pi the mystic adept and, well, Ray, whom I'm not sure was ''totally'' in-character during the big moment but whose inclusion is very, very helpful when keeping the beautiful, flowing stream-of-consciousness(es) pinned to human reality. A good tail makes for a good tale, I always say (I do not). That said, I think I can tell why Behjopiray might have been easier to write than other characters; the story seems like it could very easily have become opaque to all those outwith the mind of the writer, but it's kept clear enough for the audience that I could always tell what was happening moment-to-moment.
That's a fine line to tread, and with four left feet as well!

It certainly doesn't drag-on...
My favourite thing about this story is the characterisation of each part of the dragon. Beh the leader and change-maker, Jo the practical problem-solver, Pi the mystic adept and, well, Ray, whom I'm not sure was totally in-character during the big moment but whose inclusion is very, very helpful when keeping the beautiful, flowing stream-of-consciousness(es) pinned to human reality.
