Wonderful work on the translations. While I can't read Russian I was able to puzzle out what you were trying for in some cases and fix some problems with your translation work. RU namespace

Maybe, better would be to add namespace for languages. To be able make references like [[en:girl into fox]] [[de:der Madchen auf def Fusch]]. Because список of all language stories is hard to читать. I'm new with Wiki, please help creating templates for Russian. Inry 03:00, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

Templates are fun things and the actual programming of them can be extremely tricky. So I'll be poking at any template I see that isn't working. As to the "namespace" idea…It's a good one, but the "language links" thing you're proposing would actually require real work to setup various "localized" versions of the pages. As it is, the server is getting enough traffic that if it picked up any more it'd start going OOM again and we'd be back to the point of looking to move the site to a much more expensive hosting solution. And since none of the current administrators, AFAIK, are fluent in more than just English, it'd also mean promoting someone to Administrator from among those browsers of Shifti that are fluent in those languages. If Shifti grows more, I will do the work to setup the functionality for separate, localized versions of the site like Wikipedia provides.

I've been able to provide what help I could with the templates because of Babelfish and the relatively stand-alone nature of the few words and phrases I've had to translate for comprehension. Because I'm relatively intelligent and have many, many years of programming under my belt, that was enough. However…beyond a few simple words that have stuck with me since childhood (I had a neighbor that spoke Russian and Ukranian who tried to teach me) I'm completely lost with the language. — ShadowWolf 05:46, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

In the case of formatting templates like template:Title, you could create "Russian" versions by simply wrapping the existing template in another template that translates the parameters. So for example you'd have a template whose contents were

{{title|name={{{RussianWordForName}}}|author={{{RussianWordForAuthor}}}...}}

And so forth. That way if the English title template gets changed, the Russian one changes along with it. Bryan 14:17, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

I plan to use following structure of the header: {{заголовок|title}} = {{title}} {{автор|russian author name|link|copyright year}} ={{author...}}. If there are many authors, add line for each. {{перевод|translator|translator nick|copyright year|en=original link}} . For translation ru->en, anyone can make template {{translation...}}. Also, if there are many translators, one line for each. That template have to add [[Category:Translation]] and link to original. [[link|English Version]] [[Category:Story]][[Category:Animal]][[Category:Canine]][[Category:Fox]] There have to be categories not for equines only! Inry 05:58, 15 April 2008 (EDT)
