Hi! James, I presume? Glad to have you aboard. You seem to have picked up the basics of editing already, I can't think of any suggestions offhand. If you've got any questions or help requests in the future, feel free to leave them on my talk page or the talk page of one of the other admins. Or post them here, I try to monitor recent changes daily (though I'll be out of town next week and probably won't then, just so you know). Bryan 14:06, 21 August 2008 (EDT)

Yep, that's me, sir :), just in more suitable form lol :). I have just finished creating my homepage on Shifti. I hope that the stories’ list I had just created will be interesting for other Shifti users. The list has only 3 stories at the moment but I hope that there will be more with time either with my own search efforts or thanks to help of more experienced TF readers and writers (including You, sir). As for my own TF stories, they are in Russian language. Will it make sense posting them on my Shifti homepage anyway? --GreyDragon 14:18, 21 August 2008 (EDT)

We've got several stories that are already in Russian here, though I think they are translations of stories that were originally in English. User:Inry/Жеребёнок, User:Inry/Клуб, User:Inry/Костяная арка, User:Inry/Назад к природе, User:Inry/Не дай себя втянуть and User:Inry/потерявшийся мальчик. -- ShadowWolf 14:38, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
Heh. I knew those were around somewhere, but couldn't find them when I went looking. How about we set up Category:Russian, since GreyDragon's won't be translations? Bryan 19:06, 21 August 2008 (EDT)

I’m glad to post my sties here as Shifti seems to be the most suitable place for them of all I know for the moment. I hope that if the users who can read them in Russian will like them, someone of them may want to translate them into English. Unfortunately I’m not capable of the translation myself for now. The stories aren’t too good as they are and I don’t want to take chances trying to translate them by myself. As for setting up a new category for stories in Russian language I’ll be glad to see it created. I hope, that with time, I’ll find more people writing TF stories in Russian language or write something new myself, so there will be some new stuff to put in the category. --GreyDragon 07:41, 23 August 2008 (EDT)

Done. By the way, you're not formatting paragraphs properly but I'm reluctant to edit myself since I don't know the slightest hint of Russian. You need to put a blank line between paragraphs otherwise they all run together; your most recent story was formatted into one single gigantic paragraph as a result. See User talk:GreyDragon/VortexCronicals1. Bryan 13:38, 23 August 2008 (EDT)
Thank You very much for Your help, sir. I’m not too much familiar with html for the moment, so I was happy to find the proper teg in Your comments :). I used the teg in both stories I had submitted for the moment. I hope that now my stories look more properly formatted. --GreyDragon 07:53, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
There's a tool called google translate. Only problem is that it's a rough word-for-wrod translation of the page. So you'll get a rough reading of the story but not the full one. (Bad grammer is abound, and Russian words still in there). Another problem is that the translater is also not exact. I'm currently browsing through the translation of Way of the Dragon 1. Link is here http://209.85.171.104/translate_c?hl=en&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://shifti.org/User:GreyDragon/WayOfTheDragon1&usg=ALkJrhgRm19rgAXoKz9IHDsPXmgSEbtEWA. If you're unable to click on the link, just copy and paste it into the address bar. Oh and it has it's limits too :(. Ubermensch 21:48, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Just saw your note on my userpage

Sorry I didn't respond until now, I overlooked it.

I've tweaked the formatting of your story slightly to make it easier to read, but I suspect the main reason it hasn't received any comments is its sheer size; it's almost 400 kilobytes, the size of a large novel. Not a lot of readers leave comments here on Shifti and I suspect long stories don't get read as often since they require more of an investment in time. That's not to suggest that you should trim down the story, I haven't read it myself so I don't know whether it needs editing like that. I'm just saying that I don't think there's a technical reason why no comments have been placed yet.

I wouldn't worry too much about not receiving comments. If you skim the comment pages of some of the other stories on Shifti you'll see that it's pretty random which stories get any. Bryan 02:09, 4 December 2008 (EST)

No problem :). I’m glad to read Your answer anyway, sooner or later :). Thank You very much for explaining me the situation. Now I’m sure that I just have to wait and hope that someday my story will give inspiration to a good writer :).
Actually writing my note on Your userpage I was hoping that You will read my story ;). On one hand Your personal opinion as a reader about my story means very much for me, on the other I think You are a very good writer Yourself (I may not like some of Your stories’ plots, but Your writing style itself I like very much). I’d like to think, that my story could give some inspiration to You. So I still hope You will read it some day, maybe just not all at once ;).
As for me, when I find a book or a story I really like I’m the more happy the longer the thing is. I was regretting when I had to end my story at a point having no inspiration for farther writing.

Heh. I'm the same way, I love a good long story. But reading them takes a good long chunk of time, and I've been really busy in recent months - barely had time to write, even. But I'll put reading this story on my to-do list and I'll hopefully have some comments for you when I do. :) Bryan 10:05, 4 December 2008 (EST)
Ok, tyvm :D.--GreyDragon 10:55, 4 December 2008 (EST)
