Hey there. Welcome to Shifti. --Buck 16:11, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Charles, please review the Posting Stories page. Wiki-style posting is quirky. --Buck 16:25, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Don't forget the 'User:' bit when putting in pages that are sub-pages of your user page, Matthias. I've fixed it up for you already, that's just for future reference. — ShadowWolf 16:14, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Okay, how do I fix a page that I created but then the location was changed. Can I just change the location of a page? And what am I supposed to do when a page I'm trying to create has been edit locked? MatthiasRat 16:26, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Charles, don't worry about the errors. We'll fix it. :) --Buck 16:28, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
Good! Thank you! I like to think I'm technically competent at this sort of thing! Now if you could get LaTeX working, that'd be really cool. ;-) MatthiasRat 16:32, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
Hrm... I'll look into it. It is my server, after all. :P — ShadowWolf 16:33, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
Okay, seems like MediaWiki doesn't come with everything needed to support TeX. Installing. — ShadowWolf 16:44, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
Awww! If you can makeit work, great! If not, I'll survive! We Rat/Trike's are a hardy breed! MatthiasRat 16:45, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
Done. Just had to really study the available documentation to get the settings correct. — ShadowWolf 17:35, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Hey, just wanted to say thank you both for the welcome and for the help! Eventually I won't feel like a complete klutz! Thank you, Jon, and thank you, Shadow! :-) MatthiasRat 16:46, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

It's all part of the attempt to make Shifti a great place to post stories and read them! — ShadowWolf 17:35, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
Quick question then. Why is it when I click the 'Stories By Author' link, my name doesn't show up? Oh, you guys are doing a great job by the way. :-) MatthiasRat 17:42, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
I'll fix that. When you add a story you should add [[Category:MatthiasRat]] to it. It'll show up at the bottom of the page. Click on that and add [[Category:Stories by author]] to the resulting page. But I'll fix things for you :) — ShadowWolf 17:50, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
There, all fixed. And I've done some janitorial organization—adding categories, default-sort tags and the series box to "A Long Forgotten Madness". — ShadowWolf 18:14, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Did a bit of janitorial work myself, hope you don't mind. Welcome aboard! :) Bryan 21:35, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Thank you, Bryan! It's great to finally have had some time to post stories here! My non MK stuff needs a good home too! :-) And big thanks for listing An Unexpected Stop as a favourite! I still love that story (and the irony is that I live in Pittsburgh now and think its a lovely city!) MatthiasRat 00:10, 18 August 2007 (EDT)

Template:My stories

Hi, just thought I should drop a note here since I imagine most authors won't be regularly checking Help:Templates for updates. I've finally added a template that I should have created long ago, a tag to put on userpages to facilitate linking to your personal story category; Template:My stories. If you want (it's entirely optional), just stick this code at the top of your userpage to create a standardized little box with a direct link in it: {{my stories}}. Metamor Keep

About the Marzac storyline: will the "Tales of Sand and Ice" be put on the official page? Also, is this underworld different from the hell described in other works (ie freezing over)?

Tales of Sand and Ice is but the first book in the 'Last Tale of Yajakali'. None of it will be posted on the archive until it has been completed. Further, Cubist is interested in publishing each book in printed form eventually.
As for the Underworld, it is not the same place as the Hell described in other works. Whether an exact definition of what it is will ever end up in Metamor or not is uncertain. It depends on how philosophical/theological I feel like getting. But I certainly won't say until after I've written the story!
Thanks for your interest! --MatthiasRat 12:10, 7 May 2008 (EDT)

Thank you for the response. Do the daedra/gods have any influence over this Underworld? The gods seem to be opposing it...

The daedra/gods keep their distance from Marzac, which is the opening to the Underworld. The gods want the passage there closed, and will aid those mortals going to stop it, but will not venture there themselves for fear of what the evil may try to do through their power. The daedra will stay out of the way because the Underworld means bad things for them too! --MatthiasRat 17:05, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
Thanks.

Paradise stories

I've just discovered and have been reading through the stories in the Paradise setting, in chronological order, and am disappointed to find you haven't written any more since the end of the "Building" set. I really grew to liking the characters and really would like to know how they weather the next few years. Any possibility of writing more soon? :) —Robotech Master 20:20, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know you've been reading and enjoying the stories! I'm currently working on the next story in the series, and I know you won't be disappointed by the wait. It'll take me a while to get caught up to Jon Sleeper and Jetfire, but I have quite a few stories planned yet. :-) --MatthiasRat 20:57, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
