<poem>
Hate body,
flies, heat,

Water, need water, the crisp, crystalline...
Blazing sun upon hair...

–They crawl and bite,
Horrible needles upon my hide,
Relentless,
Squirming...

I swish my tail fiercely,
but they remain unhindered, buzzing,

TO HOT TO RUN,

too weary,

Water or death,
All is dirt, desert,
Grass and desert,
No water...

WAIT.

Hope, yes hope,
There it is at last,
A cool stream, I can smell it,
Blessed earth, thank you,
I drink.
