:::Nah, unsigned usually either means the user forgot to add the tildes or isn't bothering because he isn't logged in anyway. :Heh! If there's no good place to put something like this, how about we create one? I'm thinking an ideas and inspirations page (or some similar page title) where random tidbits like this could be listed. Two people from our world are transported by an accident during a physics experiment to an alternate world where humans don't exist, becoming centaurs in the process. Other transformations occur as the story progresses. As of October 2008 this comic appears to have ended. There was a 9 page encore crossover with The Wotch posted around April 2009 at the same address.

This strip was rebooted with the same artist at the same address in 2011. The artwork is similar, but the story has been altered somewhat.
Shaun has a dragon "soul mate" named Boston with whom he can merge. I know little about this comic so others will have to fill in the details, but apparently the comic's continuity underwent a major reboot after number 850 and the quality declined. Tedd and Elliot are the main characters, though there's an extensive supporting cast with multiple shapeshifter. Tedd is a typical androgynous transformation-obsessed high school student whose father is a Man In Black with access to alien technology, including a "transformation gun" - quite convenient considering Tedd's personality. The TF content of this comic is heavy, but not gratuitous.
Sometimes sporadic in its updates, this comic features two parallel universes; one highly magical and one highly technological. The arch-wizard Nicoli, most powerful being in the magical universe, becomes bored and travels to the technological one. Adventures and transformations ensue in both realities, most prominently a TG foxmorph in the magical world.
Scott Clements, the author and artist of New World has announced its permanent retirement as of early 2008. The www.tfsnewworld.com site is currently running Scott's next webcomic work entitled Spiderwebs in which Scott has promised there will be a nontrivial amount of transformation. The nature of such transformation has not yet been specified, and as of December 7th, 2008 there has not yet been a transformation in the Spiderwebs comic. Spiderwebs, however, is still very early in its infancy and is currently working to introduce the characters and setting. Transformations are likely to follow once this introductory period ends.

About 90 years into the future, a plague has wiped out the vast majority of humanity. The plague didn't kill, it transformed all mammals it touched into monsters. The only known country to survive was Iceland, thanks to closing its boarders at the start of the plague, along with pockets of the other Scandinavian nations. After a long prologue in the present day, the story is about a small band going into what they call "The Silent Lands" to see what has happened. So far, there hasn't been much in the way of on-screen transformation, but the art is beautiful, the architecture and machinery are drawn with meticulous precision, while still retaining the cracks and ravages of time, and the possibility of transformation seems likely. If you like transformation in the style of Dead Space that is.
This webcomic is a "spin off" of The Wotch by a fan, following the four jocks who were TGed and became cheerleaders after Anne's "women's lib" side went on an unfettered rampage in the main comic. There haven't been any apparent TFs yet and the main characters aren't aware they used to be guys, but considering the universe it shares they seem inevitable. The art is quite well done.
A relatively new (mid-2008) modern-fantasy comic about an office populated by various fantasy characters from myth though modern fiction. In a short arc, K.C. Rankin is transformed into a squirrel for the weekend as punishment for calling his unicorn office-mate a "mutant horse". The comic is fairly new, but given the theme and setting, it seems future transformation is likely.

After going though the archives back to 2001, the comic actually has a number of other, smaller transformation themed plots scattered through the series. These include a couple of "fourth wall" fights with the cartoonist, a past Halloween arc where a human character became a werewolf (or rather, a heckhound), evil doppelgangers that invent a transformation device, and a demon character that can apparently change shape and grant twisted wishes.

Sacred Pie
A long-running story about three friends who have been sucked into an interstellar sci-fi adventure battling the forces of Satan himself.

http://sacredpie.com/moon1.html - Chapter 19, "By the Light of the Moon"

In this chapter, the trio are trapped on a prison world run by a "vampire" named Var. Having won Var's respect in a previous chapter, he now assigns them to collect a bounty on a Lupine - a species with shapeshifting abilities similar to werewolves. One of our heros is bitten and gains the ability himself.

Schlock Mercenary
Book 13 of the space opera webcomic "Schlock Mercenary" involves TG elements. Earlier (way back in book 2, comics published in 2001-2002), one of the main characters was duplicated almost a billion times. Now, the 900,000,000+ duplicates are working on ways to differentiate themselves, including mind and body modification. The TG part starts here.

Sluggy Freelance
Another long-running and complex story, starring Torg, Riff, Zoe and Gwynn.

http://sluggy.com/daily.php?date=000421

Gwynn has been secretly learning magic and in a previous storyline attempted to use a love potion on Riff. Things went embarassingly awry and Torg found out. Now Gwynn wants to keep him from revealing this information, so she casts a spell that will "make an ass of him" whenever he tries to say anything important. This causes trouble as Torg takes Zoe out for a date and then encounters Oasis, an insane ninja assassin who is in love with him and will kill anyone she thinks might be a rival for Torg's affections.

http://sluggy.com/daily.php?date=001225

It's Christmas and Torg gives Zoe a necklace he picked up in an Egyptian pyramid he was trapped in with Riff some time back. Naturally, the necklace is cursed - Zoe immediately turns into a camel.

Wolf Wears Wool
http://www.wolfwearswool.com

A newly bitten werewolf teams up with a drug dealer and an herbologist to investigate strange goings-on and to apprehend supernatural troublemakers . . . And to drink lots of tea.

Actual TF 22.08.2012 -

This webcomic appears to have a setting similar to that of Black Tapestries, a fantasy world in which there are humans and several races of furries who are at war with each other. The humans have powerful magic users called "Templars". Raine is a Human / Keidran girl. The wild nature of her magic causes her to experience physical transformations between Keidran and Human forms. These transformations are usually kept in check by artifacts enchanted to suppress her magic. Throughout her life, Raine's mother has kept her Keidran form a secret from others in the Templar order, and even Raine herself. But as Raine matures, her bestial side becomes increasingly restless from years of suppression.
Abstract Gender
http://www.abstractgender.com/ - by Aaron R. Stewart and Shawn Ullom

Two young friends explore a "haunted house", and discover that although there are no real ghosts inside it does house a nest of mad science. They're both turned into girls and set loose. Unfortunately the comic has been taken down and replaced with advertising.

Hello friends, I wish I had come here earlier as the forums are well organized and I look forward
to gaining further knowledge and sharing my experiences. Ive been reading the posts and learning
quite a bit from the members.

:Forums? You might have the wrong site :P
:Shifti is a wiki, and we do strive to have it structured in a very coherent and easy to understand manner.
:Anyway… Shifti exists for authors and fans alike. If you really enjoy the site, you could help support it. And you can also register and contribute your own works. ShadowWolf 01:30, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

::Yes, this is more than a little odd. The poster might have at least left a name. I'm inclined to think of unsigned comments outside of user and story pages as spam and thus deletable. --Buck 02:59, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

:::Nah, unsigned usually either means the user forgot to add the tildes or isn't bothering because he isn't logged in anyway. I see nothing inherently wrong with unsigned comments in general (though I do add signatures for them simply to make it easier to keep track of conversations). In this particular case, though, the commenter does seem to be a little confused about the nature of Shifti. :) Bryan 03:22, 7 April 2008 (EDT)
Inverse mermaids and idea banks
Not sure where this belongs; it seems as though this René Magritte painting, Collective Invention (1934), is crying out for a story to go with it. --Trismegistus Shandy 22:12, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

:Heh! If there's no good place to put something like this, how about we create one? I'm thinking an ideas and inspirations page (or some similar page title) where random tidbits like this could be listed. With the understanding that ideas posted there could be used freely by other authors, and that the contents of the page may be pruned or archived over time if it gets cluttered, it'd serve as a general forum-like sort of place. Joysweeper's recently been working on a personal "idea bank", as an example - see Joysweepers Incoherent Idea Bank. Though that's explicitly intended as for-Joysweeper-only. Bryan 23:45, 4 May 2008 (EDT)

:: *grins* Hooray recognition! At any rate, a public idea bank doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'd still want to keep my own, if only because I've planted so much Capslove and weird excited ranting that it would kind of start taking over. My Idea Bank is just a garden of story-seeds and things that get me motivated when I'm stuck; a public one could consist of more pictures like above. Oh, and story prompts. That reminds me, I really should stick those in. --Joysweeper 23:57, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
